solid as a rock

Overall construction is solid.. rated for real firearms, the optimate can sit on-top of a .50 cal rifle and withstand that kind of recoil. Fixed at 10x makes this scope a viable option for competition shooting, for me it's nice to pick the rifle up and have the confidence on where the pellet will impact Vs the obvious fear with variable mag scopes when returning to the same magnification you used to zero the rifle on..

Tracking; adjusting for either windage or elevation, the turrets seem to return to zero everytime, NICE!
I regularly test the turrets to make sure the tracking does return accurately as i often use the MOA adjustments to dial in for long ranges when hunting (emphasising the point that when you return to zero the pellet impact is back to the beginning where you had set the zero up initially - with excellent tracking i can be confident when switching shooting styles between using mildots for hold over / hold under and dialing in manually using the turrets.

The 42mm objective lens equates to increased depth of field which is ideal when range finding with the scopes parallax adjustment (my scope has side parallax but i know there is another version of the optimate that has a rear adjustment incase you were wondering). Bringing the image into focus at set ranges seems to provide near onaccurate measurements but a quick bob up, down, left and right of the head allows me to see if the cross hairs are moving with that of the background picture.. The small objective size makes for poor image quality when light is getting low (being 10x mag and with the 30mm tube i presume helps somewhat).

overall and from what other reviews i have read on this scope its a great bit of kit, i can't fault it so far - even if it does look a little chunky on my particular airgun setup..

Pros
Solid construction,
Large amount of turrent adjustment,
Side parallax adjustment,
Very good tracking,
Small objective makes range finding fairly accurate.
Cons
No illuminated reticle,
Not the best in low light,
turrets a little spongy but for the price and what you get can't complain,
turrets cant be locked in place.
